IPGSN People - Debo Onifade
Debo graduated from Nigeria’s premier university – University of Ibadan
with a B.Sc. (Second Class Upper Division) in Electrical & Electronic Engineering. He also holds the compTIA A+, MCP and CCNA certifications. He was an IEEE award winner in the 2004 Worldwide History Paper Contest and presented his winning paper at the Conference of History of Electronics (2004) held at Bletchley Park, UK in June 2004. Debo had also been a recipient of other awards in Nigeria, including a plaque of honour by the National Orientation Agency (Ogun State) and a certificate of merit by ANCOPSS (All Nigeria Conference of Principals of Secondary Schools) in 1998, other prizes and awards at the University of Ibadan, and an outstanding staff prize award from ATM Consortium in 2005. He has attended several technical conferences within and outside Nigeria.
Debo has publications in both local and international platforms as well as some yet-to-be published
materials. He was the team lead in the University of Ibadan students group that jointly participated with a Pennsylvania State University students group in the 2004 UNESCO DiamlerChrysler Mondialogo project.
Debo is the CEO of e-Peak Systems Ltd, Lagos, Nigeria.
He
had worked for ATM Consortium Lagos - the premier Independent ATM
Deployer in West Africa. He is a Diebold Certified Opteva Hardware Technical Instructor and has also had training and experience in NCR and Wincor Nixdorf ATMs. At ATMC, he has also undertaken some research and development work, including power solutions, ATM solutions and other value added services.
Debo’s vision for several years has been ‘to be innovative always, attain trailblazing feats in his career and immensely contribute to national economic development through technology’. His thoughts, resea rch, collaborations, and work interests had therefore been a lot more centered on national development through technology, than any other thing. This also formed the basis of forming e-Peak Systems Ltd and the IPGSN.
Debo is a very active member of IEEE in Nigeria and Region 8, having served as Student Branch Chair, Student Branch Mentor and Member of Committees, at different times. He was also a member of the IEE, UK. Debo has been a sports analyst for about ten years on television stations in Nigeria and UK. He is a committed Christian and enjoys research, writing and talking.
